Sally Minns – Artist

Sally’s life experiences are fundamental to her painting. Gathering knowledge, together with subject material and creative visions, inform her constantly evolving portfolio.

“I have always lived my life through change; observing the world around me, experiencing new things, retraining, and moving forward. All of which are driven by my permanent curiosity. What would it be like to be…? What would it be like to do…? Reinventing myself, learning and growing”

As a professional figurative artist, Sally divides her time between discovering new ways of working, continuing studies in portraiture, and painting commissions.

Based in her London studio, Sally works mainly in oils, painting from life, reference material, including photographs, and her imagination. Drawing inspiration from her own life experiences, music, films, and books, her work permanently evolves.

Focusing on the composition of an image, and placement of the figure within the confines of a visualized or physical space are important to Sally.  Her use of the medium is central to determine the relationship with it, and the subject.
